George R. R.
Martin was born on September 20, 1948, in Bayonne, New Jersey. Actually he is
63 years old and he is a sci-fi writer. He is best known for A Song of Ice and Fire the bestseller
book that was adapted into a series for HBO. He began to write since he was
young feeding his imagination with monsters stories and selling those stories
to the other neighborhood children. He studied first in Mary Jane Donohoe School and later in Marist High School.
At the age of 15th
he wrote a letter to the editor of the fantastic four, that letter was the
first of many others that was published. In that way martin was becoming in a
big comic’s fan.
In 1970 Martin
earned a B. S. in Journalism from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. The Armageddon Rag a book that martin
wrote in 1983 almost destroyed his career as a writer, at that time he began his career in
television.
Martin briefly
returned to write in 1991, eventually those books were going to become in one
of his greatest epic book series A Song
of Ice and Fire which will be at least seven volumes, the last year (2011)
he published the fifth book of this series A
Dance with Dragons, quickly becoming a bestseller. During the completion of
A Dance with Dragons Martin got
involve in the production of a TV series adaption of the A Song of Ice and Fire books named Games of Thrones just like the first book.
